El Chalten is the Capital of Hiking in Argentina. Just a mile outside of the city center is Parque Nacional Los Glaciares (The Glaciers National Park) and the beginning of one of the most rugged hikes I have ever done, the Huemul Trek. The trek is only 4 days however, the miles are challenging but the views are spectacular. One could make the argument that this is the most beautiful 4 days trail in all of Patagonia.
