Behind the main stalls of Chatuchak Weekend Market, one of the largest markets in the world, you can find a section selling exotic animals from all continents, some of them critically endangered in their natural habitats.

Here, vendors not only sell purebred cats and dogs as pets, but also sugar gliders, meerkats, monkeys, and more.

Unfortunately, the market is often criticized for the poor conditions in which the animals are kept.
