Backpacking in the Superstition Mountains near Phoenix, Arizona! (Dutchman + Peralta Canyon Trail)

Next up on our journey to Alaska: the Phoenix area! I grew up just outside of Phoenix before moving to Texas and since we have visited before and done some of the popular activities, we set our sights on a new spot for us…the Superstition Mountains. These mountains are about an hour east of Phoenix and are home to some crazy peaks and scenery. And instead of doing a day hike or two, we decided to backpack in the area and combined the Dutchman Trail, Bluff Springs Trail, Terrapin Trail, and Peralta Canyon Trail into one challenging and epic 12.9 mile loop.
