For years, Mexico’s first Park Hyatt has been in the pipeline, and it’s one that I’ve been excited to visit. Well, after a substantial (and poorly managed) delay, there’s a positive update, as the hotel has finally opened! I apologize in advance for the combinations of renderings and real pictures in this post, since that’s all the hotel has provided as of now.
Basics of the Park Hyatt Los Cabos, Mexico
The Park Hyatt Los Cabos, located in Baja California Sur, Mexico, has opened as of December 4, 2025. The Park Hyatt is situated on a 26-acre property within Cabo Del Sol, a golf resort community that stretches along two miles of beach. This is the same development where the new Four Seasons Cabo San Lucas at Cabo Del Sol is located, which opened in May 2024.

The Park Hyatt features 162 guest rooms and suites, plus 35 residences. Entry level rooms are 649 square feet, and boast a 186 square foot patio. Meanwhile entry level suites are 956 square feet, and boast a 456 square foot patio with a plunge pool.

As you’d expect, the hotel features a ton of amenities, including multiple dining outlets and bars, golf courses, a large spa, a gym and wellness area, and more.

When it comes to dining, the hotel has Mesa Madre (a Mexican and Latin American restaurant), Silán (a Mediterranean restaurant), Costamar Beach Club (an all-day casual beach club), Pool Bar and Pool Decks (the poolside option for food and drinks), and Datil Coffee Shop (you guessed it, a coffee shop!).

It’s great to see this hotel finally open, given how delayed it was. It was first announced all the way back in 2017, with a planned opening in 2020. That opening timeline was constantly pushed back for a variety of reasons, though fortunately we’ve now finally seen it open.
This is one of three new Park Hyatt properties coming to Mexico, with the other two being the Park Hyatt Cancun and Park Hyatt Mexico City. Both of those are expected to open in 2026, though who knows, let’s see how that timeline goes.
Park Hyatt Los Cabos rates & points requirements
With the Park Hyatt Los Cabos now open, what are rates like? For those redeeming points, this is a Category 8 World of Hyatt property, meaning a free night redemption in a standard room costs 35,000-45,000 points per night. Meanwhile a free night redemption in a standard suite costs 56,000-66,000 points per night.

Cash rates at the Park Hyatt Los Cabos are steep — there’s huge seasonal variation, and they’re generally in the range of $1,000-2,000 per night, and that’s before Mexico’s very high taxes and service charges, which total around 35%. So this is an excellent property at which to redeem points, if you can find availability.

If you are looking to book a cash stay here, I’d recommend doing so through the Hyatt Privé program, which offers extra perks like room upgrades, complimentary breakfast, and a hotel credit.
Why I’m excited about the Park Hyatt Los Cabos
As I’ve written about in the past, Los Cabos is one of my favorite places to vacation. The service is amazing (hospitality is great in Mexico in general, and is even more elevated in Los Cabos), the food is delicious, the climate couldn’t be better, I love the rugged desert-meets-ocean landscape, and it’s also a great place for whale watching. Best of all, it’s close to the United States, so there’s no major jetlag to deal with.
The issue with Los Cabos is that luxury points hotels are largely lacking:
- The Waldorf Astoria Los Cabos Pedregal is great, but at this point redemptions are so expensive that it’s hard to get excited
- The Cape, A Thompson Hotel, is probably the all-around most reliable points property in terms of quality and award availability
- Zadun Los Cabos, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve, is also excellent, though points requirements at Ritz-Carlton Reserve properties are steep
- Solaz Los Cabos, a Marriott Luxury Collection, disappointed me, and in my opinion exists primarily to sell timeshares; the hotel suddenly and mysteriously closed in 2021, though has reopened, but I’m not looking to return

It’s nice to see yet another “true” luxury points hotel in Los Cabos. Best of all, it belongs to World of Hyatt, which means we can expect proper elite benefits, like complimentary breakfast, the ability to use suite upgrades, etc. Redeeming points in Los Cabos is also especially valuable, given that taxes and service charges total around 35% of the room rate.

Bottom line
The Park Hyatt Los Cabos has finally opened. The 168-room resort should be a great new option for those looking to earn or redeem World of Hyatt points, and I look forward to visiting. If you’re looking for an easy getaway with great weather and don’t mind paying the rate (in either cash or points), this is an excellent option.
Anyone else excited about the Park Hyatt Los Cabos?
