Sir Cowasji Jehangir, Second Baronet (1879-1962) was the founder of Jehangir Art Gallery and a leading citizen of his time. He made notable contributions to the business life of the city as an industrialist and banker, to the political life of the country and as a great patron of art. Established in 1952, Jehangir Art Gallery is more than a prime art exhibition space. Located in South Mumbai, it has been closely associated with the development of contemporary Indian art.
